The Uthlande Cooperation
In 2003, several partners from the German maritime industry joined forces to collectively develop a program system for hydrodynamics in ship design. This objective has been pursued collaboratively to this day. Currently, the following companies are represented in the Uthlande cooperation:
| Hamburgische Schiffbau-Versuchsanstalt GmbH | MEYER WERFT GmbH |
TKMS GmbH |
|
| MTG Marinetechnik GmbH | TKMS GmbH |
The following companies are junior partners who are not involved in the development of Uthlande, but apply it:
|
|
Wehrtechnische Dienststelle für Schiffe, Marinewaffen, Maritime Technologie und Forschung (WTD 71) |
| Fr. Fassmer GmbH & Co. KG | WTD 71 |
The following universities use Uthlande in the education of their students. Other universities are welcome to obtain Uthlande upon request:
|
|
|
| TUHH, Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Ship Theory (FDS) |
The Uthlande program system consists of a collection of calculation programs for hydrodynamics in ship design. Various programs are integrated under a unified user interface. They enable, among other things:
- Linear and nonlinear seakeeping calculations,
- maneuvering and positioning calculations and
- resistance and propulsion calculations.
For more information, please refer to the corresponding items of the main menu. The methods are continuously validated and, if necessary, improved. Detailed descriptions of the theories and validation results are provided to users for all programs.
